Our Winemakers: Salin

Our Winemakers: Salin

The Salin family has been established as one of the world’s key Bordeaux wine trading houses with 210 years of a family history intimately linked with the world of the Grands Crus Classés. The firm has been headed by seven generations of Salins, all with a single priority: quality. In 1985 Frédéric Salin took over the reins of the firm, giving it new impetus while perpetuating all the know-how and knowledge acquired over the years.

All their wines are sourced directly from the Château under meticulous supervision. They have established relations of trust with the Châteaux, generation after generation.

There can be no such thing as good selection without perfect knowledge of the terroir and of all the work carried out on the estate. Thanks to the constant presence of the Salins staff on their different markets and the know-how of their technicians, their product offering is regularly fine tuned to keep it exactly in line with customer demand. Their people are trained to listen attentively to their customers, and travel around France and the world over to develop emerging markets alongside the traditional Bordeaux outlets. This familiarity with the many different markets is precious in defining and developing their ranges.
